Lobo Father Jerome Lobo wrote
up his visit to the source of the Nile, in his Voyage to Abyssinia
(1735). Like Peter Pais, Lobo talks about trying to sound the depths of the
fountain from which the Nile flows. No luck. It is measureless. Text We could find no Bottom, and were assured by the Inhabitants, that none
ever had been found. |
