How up-to-date is your favorite site?

Go to two sites you visit often, and figure out what cues tell you what’s new, and what’s not. How could the sites do a better job of announcing the new? Hint: Try an e-commerce site, and a news site.

Note that there are many different ways to indicate that some content is new—not just "New" glyphs.
